Ford Flex Samples

image

I did these samples at Indigo Studios in a bid to get more Ford work. Team Detroit provided the amazing Miami beach backplates and the Flex CAD data, and I turned those into this 360. These images were created through a complicated projection process to get the HDRI dome to resemble backplate photographs, eliminating the need for a drawn out shoot. There are thousands of HDRI domes like this on the web, and all of them could be turned into a believable environment such as this.

2012 Mustang in LA River

image

This is another piece for Ford created at Indigo Studios exploring what we can do with CAD data in an environment, specifically for web video.  The cost of doing this in CG as compared to a physical shoot is exponentially lower, and you get to control more of the variables of the environment.

Bosch / Flux71

image

I teamed up with Flux71 again to provide Bosch with some promo images for their new dishwasher. They wanted a clean white style, and we took some liberties with the amount of busy reflections, distilling down the design to make the images simple and smart. These images were all based off of CAD data with minimal reference.

Chinese Golf Course Planning

image

This piece was for an architectural planning firm on the West Coast for a Golf Resort in southern China. I was given the blueprints and elevation maps, as well as the time of day they wanted, and was able to put together this flythrough animation. The timeline was extremely tight, with the whole thing being done in two weeks. One of the biggest challenges was to get the golf greens and roughs to all read as you are flying over it, and it shows the entire development clearly.

Weather Channel TVC

I worked on this TVC at Indigo Studios, with Aaron Keuter of Crabfood doing the compositing. I was responsible for the tornado, the associated particles, and some of the environmental effects that were composited into the final. I had a bunch of particles moving at high speeds with high motion blur to create the look of the tornado, referencing movies like Twister and 2012. I had a variety of passes of debris that I created to surround the tornado, and give the feeling of impending doom. It was an extremely fun spot to work on, with a deadline of about a week, and that's including two other spots of similar concept.

Cosmetic Visualization

image

I was tasked with creating costmetic product shots before they were even finished with the prototype bottles. Based on some rough sketches and some reference of similar products, I made these shots according to the specifications of the brand managers.

These shots really show the versatility of 3D, as I can show your customers something that even you haven't seen yet. It allows the most flexibility when it comes to changing your product right before launch, as well as being able to use the same assets from the shot to turn it into an animation.

Scana Symphony / Indigo Studios

Here is a spot I worked on at Indigo Studios, responsible for all of the flame, smoke, steam and any other fluid dynamics. I was on the set for two days to be sure I had all the shot information I needed, and remodeled a good portion of the sets to get accurate simulations. I love how this spot turned out, it had pretty awesome art direction and compositing from the other guys I was working with.

Jewelry

image

This jewelry spot was created for a client who did not yet have the production jewelry, only drawings. After being described the jewelry and studying the schematics, the entire set was built in 3D. Special attention was paid to replicate the refraction of the diamonds, and how they would look in this dark and moody environment. The point of all the shots is breathtaking drama, the unveiling of a unique style of jewelry for a client that has always only been associated with quality.

Premier Health Care / Flux71

image

I worked with Flux71 to create the brain and light bulb particles for two spots for Premier Health Care. I used the structure of a brain as a guide to begin building it out of letters, and demonstrate the network of healthcare systems that all contribute to Premier Healthcare.  Particle specialty and awesome art direction from Flux71 combined to make some pretty cool images.
